I mainly address this site to helping boost the attitude, skill, and team mindedness of Sales people.
Today I want to speak to their Managers. But they are free to listen in ( So to speak)
Great sales management is a very rare occurence these days in large ticket sales. The tendency of most dealerships is to take their top sales people, plop them in the seat and say get it done. Very little is put into training or framework for success in the new role.
Let me give you a few pearls ;
A. Great Sales Management is not about your talent, it is about your team
B. You cannot “order” sales success, you can inspire it .
C. In order to train people properly you must be getting training yourself constantly
D. A mentor is worth more than money to your success, it is absolutely necessary to have someone who you trust to give you the benefit of their experience.
E. The secret to hiring is to seek those that are better than you are at the job your hiring for. Loading your floor with second place runners, will make you feel superior , but it will never bring you to the next level.
F. Leadership is not about what you say, it is about what you do. Do right.
G. When you find “The Magic” of a gelled team, When you have people knit together, When it is incredible, PROTECT it. Dont seek drama, Don’t “Hire in ” problems. PROTECT IT.
H. People are not projects. Nor are they game pieces . They are people, treat them the way you want to be treated
