What are these?
“We will land this deal”
“ I told them you were calling the factory for extra discounts”
“ All you have to do is pretend to call”
“I told them this was the last one….”
“ They better act fast we have other people HOT on it “
“ I told them this was the last day for this Price”
They are :
A. Clever trial closes
B. Buying Prompts
These are just a few examples of commonly used lies that are considered “ No harm No Foul”
in the world of big ticket sales.
We justify it by saying “ well it could be true” or “Hey, the buyers are liars too.”
But this is true : A professional does not make his living by deceptive practices.
A lie is a crutch to prop up a lack of skill and talent. Selling this way creates what I call a BOTTLE ROCKET SALES CAREER You’ll Blow up nice and pretty ,and disappear just as quick
So When is it OK to LIE to get the deal? – NEVER
NO I AM NOT AT SOME WRITER’S DESK , FAR FROM THE SELLING FLOOR. I WORK EVERY DAY ON THE SALES FLOOR ,FACING THE SAME CHALLENGES YOU DO.
To enjoy long term success in this profession, you will have to accept this as fact :
The truth , even when it is not convenient ,is always the right choice.
A Man I admire very much, told me early in my career;
Respectable people earn a respectable living
